Since 1991, this award has been the stage for recognizing outstanding design from around the globe. Amongst many other categories, participants can submit their entries under Lighting, Bathroom Design, Mobility, or Healthcare. In the more than 30 years of its existence, the annually presented Baden-Württemberg International Design Award has established itself as a constant at both national and international level and has been held under the concise label FOCUS OPEN since 2009. Once more, in 2024, the platform invites entries across a spectrum of categories – Healthcare, Lighting, Bathroom, Capital Goods, Mobility, Materials & Surfaces, Service Design and eight other categories. No matter where each participant’s passion lies, this competition provides an equal playing field, whether you’re a recipient of the FOCUS Meta, FOCUS Gold, FOCUS Silver, or a FOCUS Special Mention. But that’s not all – winners get a chance to bask in the spotlight through a yearbook feature, an exhibition, an exclusive award ceremony, and an online showcase.
